★ 38 Weeks and still waiting!
Date: Sunday, December 30, 2007 | Time: 8:54 PM
Omg! I cant wait anymore! Whats taking so long??
At first i thought pregnancy was 9mths only.. but really its 10 mths. Its so long! Ive been preggy for so long, i dont wanna wait anymore!
I just hope he'll pop out after New years :)
Week Thirty-Eight-If he is the "average baby," he weights 6.8 pounds (3083gm)and is 19.6 inches (49.8cm) long.
-Have you noticed he hiccups a lot? Because there is no air around him, those breathing exercises cause amniotic fluid to get into his windpipe. The result? Hiccups!
-Your child's intestines are accumulating lots of meconium. Meconium takes on the role of being your baby's first bowel movement -- removing the waste that has accumulated.
-He may have a full head of hair now -- an inch or more long! Don't be surprised if it's an unexpected color. Some blond couples have dark haired babies; some dark haired couples have red-haired babies; some couples have babies with only peach fuzz! It may just persuade you to take a closer look at your family tree!
-Circumference of head and abdomen are about the same size for your baby. No wonder it's so hard to get a t-shirt over a newborn's head!

We werent actually intending to buy shoes for the baby, but when we were shopping in Adidas, we saw some kids shoes.. they were kinda big. Then saw these little baby shoes hehe!!! ;) Actually ive seen smaller shoes than these, but they didnt have any. Im guessing maybe when
our baby is about 4-6mths old, he can fit his little feet into them :)
I know i said that i hated MidValley and that ill never go again... well i lied lol! Seems like thats the only place we like to shop nowadays... they have nearly everything u need in one place.

-He is official full term now but can still benefit from extra days in the womb.
-Your baby continues to practice breathing movements. Isn't it amazing how he can breathe "under water?"
-Grasp is firm now. It won't be long until you'll feel that strong little fist confidently grasping your finger (or tightly clenching your hair)!
-A few weeks ago, your baby would move his eyes toward light. Now he turns towards light outside the uterus.
-As the uterine wall stretches and thins allowing more light to permeate, he develops definite daily activity cycles. You will want to be sure to establish good patterns yourself at this time, thus encouraging them in your child. Ever heard of a baby getting his days/nights mixed up? At first i was really scared cuz i had no idea what it was and if ill have it forever. ive had sleepless nights, and finally now... i can have a good sleep and not wake up or cry!
But i do still wake up around 6-7am cuz im still feeling a lil itchy.
In a way... this horrible experience has made me not ever wanna get pregnant again! I know its not the baby that caused this reaction. But i just cant go through this again.
Its strange how PUPPP occurs and 70% of women who get PUPPP will have baby boys.
I might have another baby... i dont know. All i know is that ONE baby is enough for now!
And another thing i know is that ill never touch stretch marks creams/ lotions/ oil ever again! ill rather have stretch marks than fucken ugly huge rashes!
The reason why my condition is so bad is bcuz i have PUPPP's and also bcuz i used that stupid Palmers coco butter stretch marks cream.
The doc said that it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt use that cream.... how sad! I am sad!
I hate my tummy! I hate the way i look now! I just hate it!!!

★ I have PUPPPS!
Date: Sunday, December 16, 2007 | Time: 8:16 PM
What causes PUPPP?
PUPPP is thought to be related to stretching of the skin on the abdomen. Somehow the rash develops as a sort of "allergy" to the stretch marks and spreads elsewhere on the body. Supporting the stretch mark theory are the following observations:
-Most cases begin in the last 3 months, especially the last 5 weeks, when the stretching is greatest. It is rare for PUPPP to begin after delivery.
-PUPPP is most common in a first pregnancy, when the abdomen is tightest.
-The rash usually starts around the umbilicus where stretching of the abdomen is greatest.
-On average, patients with PUPPP have greater weight gain, babies that are heavier than normal and an increased chance of having twins.
-Another theory considers low level traffic of fetal cells within the mother's circulation, which appears increased in women with PUPPP and may persist for some time after the baby has been born.
What are the features of PUPPP?Small, pink, raised spots (papules) appear in the stretch marks around the umbilicus. There is often a pale halo around the papules. These papules coalesce to form large red, raised (urticarial) patches (plaques) which spread to involve the buttocks and thighs, and sometimes the arms and legs. Lesions on or above the breasts are rare.
PUPPP is very itchy (pruritic) and patients find it difficult to sleep at night.
Does PUPPP affect the baby?Rarely, the baby can be born with a mild PUPPP rash but this soon fades. PUPPP does not cause any other problem with the baby.
How long does PUPPP last?PUPPP continues until delivery then usually resolves within a few weeks. Rarely, it may persist for longer. In some cases, this relates to retained placental products.
TreatmentThere is no curative treatment for PUPPP (apart from delivery!). Symptoms can be controlled using:
Emollients (moisturisers) applied liberally and frequently as required.
Topical steroids applied thinly twice daily to the red itchy patches.
Antihistamines - conventional antihistamine tablets appear safe in late pregnancy (though they may make the baby drowsy on delivery).
Discuss your treatment with your doctor, or ask to be referred to a
dermatologist.
Can PUPPP recur with future pregnancies? This is very uncommon. If it occurs the PUPPP is likely to be milder.
What is PUPPP and how is it dealt with? While you are pregnant, your body's chemistry ebbs and flows, mostly working for the benefit of your health and the health of your baby. One of the less beneficial side-effects of pregnancy can be skin changes, such as PUPPP.
PUPPP stands for Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy. It is a common rash that most often appears in the first pregnancy during the 3rd trimester. Typically, PUPPP does not affect pregnancies after the first. PUPPP typically begins in the stretch mark area of the abdomen. It does not involve the belly button. The rash consists of small red swollen spots inside the stretch mark that grow together to form larger spots over the abdomen. The rash can spread to the thighs, buttocks, breasts and arms.
The cause of PUPPP is not known.
Statistics show that 70% of women with PUPPP give birth to boys, so there is some theory that suggests that the male fetal DNA acts as a skin irritant.
The diagnosis of PUPPP is based solely on the appearance of the rash. There are no laboratory tests necessary to detect PUPPP. Skin biopsies are not generally performed unless there is a question about the diagnosis.
PUPPP cannot be cured, but the symptoms can be dealt with. High strength steroid creams or ointments used up to 5 to 6 times a day usually relieve the itching and prevent the spread of the rash. Once the rash is under control, changing to a lower strength steroid used less frequently is advisable. For severe cases, daily oral steroids may be necessary to control itching. Oral antihistamines are generally less effective for itching than steroids, but may be useful at night to help with sleep. PUPPP will disappear once the baby is delivered.
How annoying is this! Pregnant women already go through so much... why the hell do we have to get this too! Fucken hell!!!!!

Week Thirty-Six
-Your baby is almost ready and most likely, so are you! The only organ still to mature is the lungs. While certainly you are both growing anxious to meet, remember that each day (up to 42 weeks), that your little one stays within your womb will multiply his chances to breathe on his own.
-If he hasn't already, this week your baby may drop into the birth canal. While breathing for mom becomes easier, walking may be the exact opposite! If he's not your first baby, this "lightening" may not occur until right before labor.
-Fat is dimpling your baby's elbows and knees, and forming creases in the neck and wrists.
-His skin is growing smooth and, shall we say it, "baby" soft.
-His gums are very rigid. It won't be many months before you'll see his teeth.
-He has a fully developed pair of kidneys and his liver has begun processing some waste products.
-Your child's average size is now 18.66 inches (47.4cm) and 5.78 pounds (2622 g). Between now and birth she will gain about an ounce a day!

-His hearing is fully developed, so be sure to talk to your son. Do you find yourself speaking in a high-pitched tone? That's okay since some studies show babies respond better to higher pitches.
-It's getting crowded! Your baby is now taking up most of the uterus and you may even feel like your chest has run out of room! Soon enough though, baby will move down and you'll be able to breathe easily again (just not walk so easily! Ha!).
-Your baby is 18.2 inches (46.2cm) long and weighs 5.3 pounds (2383gm).
