Its actually easier than i thought. But i really have to balance the ingredients... or itll turn out weird. I thought i was adding too much sugar and maybe itll be too sweet.. so i lessened it. Then it turned out not sweet enough :( My trays were mini size ones :)
Didnt have the proper shape cutters, so thats why they look funny muahaha! And, always keep an eye on ur tarts, or theyll over cook! Mine did kinda.. when i went to look at it, the pastry was ok, but the egg custard was like gonna explode or something lol! its like a little ping pong ball haha! Well, after it cooled down the top went down :)
I must say... its was delicious! Round 2 tomorrow hehe!!!
Now who's finger is that?
Looks like Ryans...hehe!!
Hmmm, i wonder what it taste like?
I need another bite... to really know if its good....
Hmmm, i think i need another bite to be really sure...
LOL, look at my cutie gettin jiggy wit it muahaha!!! so funny! He dances alot now, specially when watching his tv shows or mtv :) He was actually making even more funnier moves, but i didnt get the chance to cam him then *sighs* he's so funny!
I think we should be getting our new suggie this coming sunday.. *hopefully!!* I hope he will be a good boy, or i wont be handling him as much like i do with Mimi.
We'll be upgrading to a 4ft cage also, its so much more bigger and roomy for them to play :) *yay* and that means more toys to make/ or buy :p
Will update on the new goodies when i get them :)
Mimi
Mimi , isnt she cute?
Titi @ the top and Mimi @ the bottom
Tito trying to look cute and it's working hehehehe!!!
When buying from a Breeder, what should you expect?
On the visit, what to expect ?
So you have decided that a sugar glider may be the right pet for you. Breeders love to meet potential owners and their families. Be prepared to stay a while, as a normal visit can last 2 hours or more. Make a list of any questions that you have. While you are there, you can meet and handle some of the gliders, as well as learn what it takes to be a good glider parent. Most people come to knowing little about these wonderful animals however they leave there with a great amount of knowledge to decide if this is the right pet for them. We don’t think you should rush your in making your decision, and encourage you to think everything over.
Before your new addition comes home, what to expect ?
You have done your research, and decided that a sugar glider is the right pet for you. Now, you will need to do a little shopping. Be sure that you have everything you need before your little ones come home, this will make the home coming day run a lot smoother and less stressful for everyone.
Cage - the bigger the better, 1/2 inch bar spacing, tall is better than long. Be sure that all materials used for the cage are safe for sugar gliders.
Sleeping quarters - They like it warm and dark. Examples are sleeping pouches and/or nest boxes
Diet and Supplements - this will vary diet as to the diet you choose, research your diet carefully and make a list of everything needed.
Water bottle - a hamster water bottle works great.
Food Dishes - some use paper plates with igloos covering them to protect the cage from huge food fights as well as keeping waste out of the food. Other ideas are hanging bird dishes, heavy ashtrays, or heavy small animal dishes.
Bedding - examples are white paper towels, corn cob bedding, fleece, carefresh, breeder celect or newspaper (if the glider has a minimum of 3 inches of clearance and can not reach the newspaper)
Wheel - Wheel are essential for sugar gliders because they need exercise to maintain their bone health. Wodent Wheel are recommended for sugar gliders.
Toys - gliders love toys! Cat toys, bird toys, hamster toys, even some infant toys. Check to be sure they are safe for your gliders before giving them any new toy.
Vet - A knowledgeable vet should be located before you bring your glider home. Not all vets treat sugar gliders.
Branches and Perches - an absolute must for any gliders habitat. If using branches from the outside be sure they are safe, sterilize, and not treated with chemicals.
Bonding Pouch - this will greatly help in bonding and travel with your glider.
Before you bring your glider home, be sure that you are prepared. Make sure you have all the items on the above list. The glider’s cage should be set up complete with feeding station, full water bottle, warm sleeping quarters, and a few toys. At this point, don’t overwhelm the cage with toys, as you don’t want a lot of toys to distract the sugar gliders from wanting to interact with you. You can slowly add more toys as the bonding progresses. Prepare your gliders food the day before, and make a list of questions to ask your breeder. Most breeders encourage you to make bonding visits, or the use of scent patches with your glider before it come home. This will help the glider become familiar with you, and help in bonding later.
The big day is finally here. You will need a special carrying pouch for your glider, as some of us as breeder do not provide one for you. If you are making a journey of more than 2 hours you may want to provide some treats [dried fruit, yogurt drops] for the ride home. Make sure you bring your list of questions with you, as well as our phone number and directions in case you get lost. Upon your arrival, we will go over any questions or concerns that you have. There is also some paperwork that we will need to fill out. Your balance, if any, will be due at this time. We will then get out your new glider, and prepare them for the ride home.
The first few days home will be both stressful and exciting. It is important to note that every glider has a different personality so it is almost impossible to know how each individual will react. Some gliders will take to their new homes and owners right away, with no signs of stress or fear. However, most will show some signs of fear and discomfort when they are first brought home. Leaving a sugar glider alone in the cage for 1-3 days to allow it to adjust to the new home is recommended if the glider is showing signs of moderate to severe stress. During this time, talk softly through the bars of the cage, let your glider come to you. Chasing a sugar glider around the cage to catch it will create more stress to the animal. Sugar gliders are wild, exotic animals, and are prone to stress.
Barking or crying - This is the most common, and generally happens late at night when the joey is left alone. It is trying to call out for it’s parents or siblings. It is important that you calm them with attention if at all possible, even if it is just speaking softly to them. If the glider is alone, providing a small stuffed animal or scent patches that smell like the parents is recommended.
Crabbing, or becoming pouch protective - This is normal and common, especially the first week or so in their new home. Their sleeping area is what they consider to be safe and familiar. They are still scared and trying to adjust to their new surroundings. Taking their pouch out of the cage, and laying it open in your lap will allow them to explore their surroundings on their own terms. Generally, if you give them a little while this behavior will lessen as they become familiar with their new home.
Lunging, nipping or biting - It is rare that a sugar glider will get this frightened on it’s arrival home. However if it does happen, it is important that you show them love, and don’t act afraid of their advances. If they get what they are trying to accomplish by doing it, they will continue. Be sure to spend lots of time with these gliders. Carrying these gliders in bonding pouches and talking softly will help.
Not eating - When a sugar glider becomes stressed, it may not eat, or eat very little. If your sugar glider doesn’t eat well the first 2 nights, do not worry this is normal. However if it lasts longer than 3 days, contact your vet.
Soft Stools - Soft stools can occur when a sugar glider is over stressed and bacteria in the digestive track becomes unbalanced. Often times this clears up in a day or so. Feeding a teaspoon of yogurt may help get the sugar glider back on track. If at any time the sugar glider becomes dehydrated, has diarrhea, or if stools do not return to normal within 24-48 hours, get the sugar glider to the vet immediately!
Skunking - This is a defense tactic for sugar gliders to avoid becoming pray to other animals. If a sugar glider is startled it will let of a burst of odor from it’s anus. It does have a similar smell to that of a skunk but milder. The smell is brief and doesn’t cling like a skunks odor.
Common New Owner Questions :-
Q. Do sugar gliders bite? A. Yes, sugar gliders can bite. Anything with teeth can bite, but tame and bonded gliders rarely do. A sugar glider bite feels similar to that of a hamster bite, although they don’t always break skin. Sometimes a tame and bonded glider may bite out of illness or if it is startled. Unbonded sugar gliders will bite out of fear. If your sugar glider does bite, it is important to take the bite. If the sugar glider learns that it can archive what it wants by biting, it will continue the behavior.
A less painful type of “bite” is called a nip. In this case the sugar glider doesn’t break the skin, but creates more of a pinch. This is often times a warning of its unhappiness or discomfort. Sugar gliders may nip you if they smell food or something they think is food on your hands (ex. lotions).
Tips to avoid being bit :- Avoid grabbing a sugar glider from above. This will create a defensive response, and may result in a bite. Instead, try coxing the sugar glider on the back of your hand, or scooping it up gently from below.
Some sugar gliders are “pouch protective” in these cases, the sugar glider will feel the need to protect their nest. Gently coax the sugar glider out of the pouch by working him up to the top of the pouch.
Offer the back of your hand instead of the palm. Most animals will find this less intimidating. Not to mention, taking a bite on the back of the hand is less painful than on the palm.
Q. Do sugar gliders need immunization (shots)? A. No. Sugar gliders are not required or recommended for immunization shots at this time. The lower body temperature keeps the glider safe from many illnesses that would other wise affect placental mammals. One example is rabies. If a sugar glider came into contact with rabies the glider could not get or spread the disease. Sugar gliders are marsupials, as such their body temperature is lower than that of placental mammals.. Of coarse this does not mean that sugar gliders unable to get sick. There are still many diseases sugar gliders are susceptible to.
Q. Do sugar gliders make a lot of noise? A. Sugar gliders are nocturnal animals. They are extremely active, vocal, and playful at night. Often times a variety of vocalizations can be heard, from barking (similar to a small puppy barking), crabbing, to chattering and hissing. Toys and wheels make noise. Most people, especially light sleepers, should not house sugar gliders in their bedroom. For the most part, yes, they can be loud, however, they aren’t usually loud enough to keep the neighbors up.
Q. Do sugar gliders teeth keep growing? A. NO!! Sugar gliders are NOT rodents, they are marsupial possums. A sugar gliders teeth should never be trimmed or floated.
Q. My sugar glider doesn’t seem to drink a lot of water. Should I be worried? A. Sugar gliders receive most of their “water” from the foods they consume. This is why dry pellet diets are not recommended as a healthy diet. Fresh water should always be offered. If you are concerned about dehydration, try tenting the skin on the back of the sugar glider’s neck. If it goes back down immediately, there are no problems with dehydration. However, if the skin stays tented or goes down slowly, the glider is dehydrated. Often times offering a small amount of juice, glideraide, or a 50/50 mixture of Pedialyte and water will help a dehydrated sugar glider. Sugar gliders can hide illnesses well. If you have any reason to believe your sugar glider may be ill, take it to the vet as soon as possible.
Q. What is that bald spot on the head and chest of my sugar glider? A. The “bald spot” on the head, and chest are caused by active scent glands secreting oils. Intact males will rub their chest, head, and anus on their cage, colony members, and other objects, to mark what is “theirs”. Males that are neutered will stop producing the oil that mats down the fur creating the “bald spots”. Over time, neutered males will completely loose their “bald spots”.
Q. What is that pink worm thing coming out of my sugar gliders anus?? A. This is a males penis. The penis is pinkish in color, and is considered to be bifurcated. This means it is divided in two, but it is actually 2 separate shafts. New owners often mistake the penis for worms, or intestines. The penis is quite long, but is most often retracted . You may at times see your male with it out, cleaning it, and even showing it off.
Q. Can I take photos of my sugar glider with the flash? A. Yes. You can safely take a few photos of your sugar glider using the flash. But, do not use flash point directly towards your sugar gliders' eyes. They may get frightened and it will harm their sensitive eyes. Try look for a bright spot or capture picture during daytime.
I found all this from another site and i thought i should share. Its honestly.. sooooo mean and sick! Imagine if they were humans... babies... new borns... *grins*
Have you ever wondered where do pet shops get their sugar glider joey supply? How about what they feed them? Ever wondered about the age of a joey sold at most pet shops in Malaysia? If you were to ask the pet shop keeper about the joeys, they would give you very blunt answers.
How old are the joeys? – “2 to 3 months old lah”
What do you feed them?
- “Ah, easy only. Feed apples, cat food and some mealworms” or “Feed Gerber jar babyfood” or “Just apples and grapes” or “Sunflower seeds and apples”
What cage to use? – “Small bird cage or a hamster cage would do”
Easy to care? – “Very easy, like hamster only”
In reality, the joeys sold at those shops are about 4 weeks OOP to 5 weeks OOP. Their diet needs to be varied, with a good ratio of fruits and veggies, along with insects. You can read more about diet in my other article. Anyway, cages, we all know the minimum is a 3ft tall cage and they are not as easy as hamsters, quite complicated.
The picture above here is an example of underage joeys in the market. This picture was taken by shakeera outside of KL Sentral. I was personally there as well but I did not have my camera at that moment. The joeys are around 4 and 5 weeks OOP, seriously hungry. The only thing available as food is half of an apple, which has gone brown with age. The joeys have nothing to sleep in but a small little cup that is barely 3 inches in diameter. Joeys at this age still need milk. They still need their mom’s warmth and care. Don’t you feel like crying when you see little baby animals snatched away before they are of the right age to cater to the pet trade? The people manning the store would tell you that the joeys are 3 to 4 months old, they are super tame and easy to care for and they should eat only apples so that they do not smell. Some rubbish advice that is, they are too young, they are too scared and weak to bite or crab and probably sick from malnutrition. The price is cheap, so this attracts a whole lot of buyers, but it is a pity to see so many people fall into this trap.
Do these look familiar? I won’t mention the name of the shop but the way the joeys are housed is actually a familiar sight in a particular shopping mall. The joeys in the pictures are about 3 weeks OOP to 4 weeks OOP. Extremely malnutrition, most of the joeys there are very sick. I personally saw one dying. A few other people also told me they have seen dead ones at the same place. Why are they dying? Well, the joeys have nothing to eat but a few pieces of very brown apples. At this age, the joeys need milk, apples is high in phosphorus and the joeys have not much energy to chew solid food. This makes them weak and suffer from brittle bones and poor growth later in life. Who knows how long they can live, maybe not the full 10 to 15 years of life. The worst part is that the joeys in the pictures are constantly damp with moisture from the apples and also urine, which makes the staff blow dry them with a hair dryer. This is not the way, the hair dryer can burn the joey’s delicate skin and ears, causing extreme pain. Now, don’t you feel like telling these people off about the way they are keeping the joeys? Of course rite? But whenever we open our mouths to help these joeys, the staff would turn a deaf ear and act arrogant. They would stand firm about the way they keep the joeys, saying it is the correct way and given the correct food and treatment. I once brought a 2 month OOP joey to them, and they told me my joey is not 2 months but 4 months old….. Gosh, they really do not know about joey age. They will say those that they sell(those tiny underage ones) are 2 months old and I got cheated by getting a 4 month old as a 2 month old joey. Insane….. To me, with that answer, it shows just how ignorant they are.
Look at these photos, this time it is not just joeys but adults. The adult gliders are not tame, mainly wild caught and sold with the sold purpose as breeding animals. What are they fed? Well, dried dogfood, apples and sunflower seeds. Such a fattening diet and it is really bad for gliders since the dogfood is the low quality type and sunflower seeds can cause intestinal blockage. The gliders are only given food troughs as hiding or sleeping boxes, exposing them to light. Every few days, the gliders are taken out of the shop and are showered with a hose, later dried off under the sun as if they were stuffed toys. Gliders are nocturnal so imagine how much the gliders actually suffer.
Those small bird cages house breeding pairs with joeys. They are given mainly a coconut hide and a food and water bowl. No climbing material or any toys for them to play with, just a small cage to make them breed.
Where do all these underage joeys come from? Well, from unethical suppliers of course! Due to the huge demand, suppliers are trying to maximize breeding. As hobbyist breeders, our gliders only breed twice a year, sometimes 3 times depending on their health, diet and environment. These suppliers are squeezing out 4 to 5 breedings a year. How do they do this? By separating the joey before it is properly weaned, the breeding gliders would have the urge to breed again because by nature, as soon as a joey is out of pouch and leaves the female, the gliders would then have the urge to breed again. These suppliers have about 200 to 800 breeding individual gliders, supplying joeys to pet shops that have the demand.
We can stop such suppliers and also such pet shops by just getting joeys or gliders from proper breeders. If we stop this kind of heartless sales, more gliders would stay safe. We should always aim to get proper aged joeys, which are 8 weeks OOP, never any younger.
Beware of suppliers and commercial sellers, beware of most pet shops. Do your research and you will be able to get a healthy joey.
So reality IS that it takes more than some cheap stuff to keep gliders. I would say its kinda like raising a human child.. but not as frustrating lol.
There diet is very important, there so many things to feed them, and its not just what the seller tell you. If u buy from a breeder im sure they would recommend good food for your glider like...
There are many different diets available for your sugar glider, each diet has it's ups and downs. It really is controversial as to what the best diet is for a sugar glider in captivity.
Whether it is HPW Diet, BML Diet, PML Diet or others recognized diet, it's really up to you. The choice is yours to make.
Although any diet you choose, keep the following in mind :-
• A healthy diet is VERY important, serious health conditions will arise if your glider is not feed properly.
• Keep a positive calcium to phosphorous ratio, use calcium supplements that are non-phosphorous.
• A sugar gliders diet should consist of a protein source, vitamins, fruits and vegetables.
• Use vitamin supplements when necessary, but don't over do it, too many vitamins can be just as harmful as not enough.
• Start out by feeding about 3-4 tablespoons of food per night, per glider. If they eat it all the first night add a little more the next night until they leave only a little bit. Remember a sugar gliders stomach is about the same size of your thumbnail, and only holds less than a tablespoon of food/water.
• Often times breeders will offer pregnant or lactating mothers extra protein. Before doing this, be sure it fits into your current diet plan.
• Always follow the directions of your chosen diet.
• Fresh water and a high quality staple food must be available at all times.
• Feed you glider a varied diet within your chosen diet plan. This will prevent food boredom, and ensures a balanced diet. Example, feed various fruits, juices, vegetables, etc.
• Cat food or pellet base diets are not recommended. Sugar gliders are sap suckers, by feeding large amounts of hard food can lead to an infection in the jaw known as “lumpy jaw”.
• Do not mix diets. Each diet is balanced with the right amount of vitamins and minerals. Mixing diets can affect these balances resulting in either too much, or not enough of something.
• Give the diet a chance before deciding your gliders don't like it. Sugar Gliders can be like 2 year olds, and have similar eating patterns. One week they will go without touching any fruit, the next that is all they will eat.
My Sweetheart no# 3 hehe!!! Isn't she just a little darling?
She went and curled herself up onto my colar bone. Its like a little bed that sinks in for her to rest hehe!!! It's such a touching moment... its like i have another baby.. cept its like so tiny and furry lol :)
Sugar gliders are extremely vocal and it can be quite startling if you have never heard them before, especially considering there size.
BARK This is an interesting sound, it sounds just like a puppy. I find they do this when they are looking for you and wanting to play (This is my favorite)
CRAB This is their defense sound, just short of biting. It is very loud and makes them sound like they are much bigger than they really are. When you hear this sound, freeze, don't pull back and don't move forward. The reasoning is simple. You want them to trust you, if they are making this sound, the trust is not there yet. Or sometimes it just means Leave me alone,
HISSING This is a sound of annoyance, basically when they don't like something,
CHATTERING Usually you can hear this each day. It kinda could be interpreted as a greeting.
CHIRP This is a content sound, sometimes they make it when eating there favorite foods.
CRYING This is a sound most generally heard by joeys, or gliders that have just went into a new home and is crying for their mom and/or family
SINGING Glider moms sing to their babies while they are still in the pouch, this is a very sweet and rhythmic sound, and you can definitely tell she is singing to them.
FIGHTING/MATING Mating - Obviously, if you have a male and female together, that is of breeding age, they will do this. It is part of their mating ritual, and will be continuous for a long time. It is also a sign of dominance. While two gliders are establishing their dominance.
My 2 Sugar Glider joey's Tito & Mimi (male and female.)
Tito's the male, naughty one this is hehe! Was very deffensive at first, but now he's getting use to everything and people i guess. Got him for RM300 at the PetShack in Subang. Got mislead and ripped off i reckon. Buy anyhow, theres always a downside to being a newbie/ first timer right?
So my advise to you, is to do all ur needed research, ask around and survey first before buying, or you'll definitely get totally ripped off! Trust me.. its happened so many times with lots of things.
The best is to buy from breeders, as their gliders are most probably tamed or tamer than shop gliders. Shop gliders and prone to some so called mental problems cuz of the atmosphere and kids poking them, yelling, loud noises.. basically theyre caged in a cage thats not big enough, specially with heaps of gliders in there, the crappy food theyre given and im sure they arent handled very well either.
If ur thinking of buying a glider. Even if its just 1 glider. Your new cage MUST BE ATLEAST 3FEET BIG. Gliders need room to jump, fly and play. A cage any smaller is not big enough. If a seller tells u a smaller cage is alright and will do, theyre most probably tricking you and obviously want you to buy it. Money talks for them. So be wise, and have heart for the little creatures. Its just like someone putting you in a small closet, how would u feel?
Theres alot of Sugar glider sites for you to read and get info from. Read and learn ;)
They need love and care, so if ur not ready for the responsibilities, dont even think about it.
Anywayyyyy, the other is Mimi, the female. Shes tamer and cuter and sweeter lol! both are :)
MIMI
Tito
New things added to the cage. The Chain thingys we made ourselves hehehehe!!!
My CP-303's, not so scary without the flash :p I set it on "document" mode with my phone, and tadaa!!! muahahaha! I think i could make it in the movies as a ghost or a vampire (preferablyTWILIGHT...) :p
AND
Misty Brown. They look natural enough... not like the other ones.
Ok this is weird, we woke up 9+am, made breakfast, got ready, drove up to Ipoh (took like 2hrs) -including "some traffic jams", got there, had lunch with my hubbys friend, went to pick up my father in-law (He's living with us now in KL) then drove all the way back down to KL (took about 3 1/2 hrs) - including very heavy traffic, accidents and more traffic jams that i really dont understand. Its like when the traffic begins to flow freely, there was really nothing causing a jam at all. So strange how some people drive...?
Anyhow, glad to be back instead of being in the car... kinda uncomfy for long hrs, unless ur in a Benz or something lol!
Hmmm, my father in-law is great, he's nice to me... nice to us, even though i have to admit, this (today) in my 3rd time seeing him and my 1st time actually talking to him. The other 2 times have just been "hi" & "bye" along with smiles thats all. So yeah, im actually happy and glad that i dont have a "Monster in-law" like in the movie hehehehehehe!!! :p
:) My hubby got me some new earphones, theyre something i use like every single day... I love them and the sound is so freakin cool!!!! Enough bass that it doesnt distort music/movies, the sound is pretty much like a home theater i guess... Just really really good! Value for money + excellent sound = Awesome! Got it for RM100 If youre interested click here Theres a few to choose from, depending on which kind u prefer. For me i prefer BASS over HI-FI, but then, my MP21 gives me both Hi-fi & Bass :)
I got the white ones, i was gonna get pink, but the pink isnt nice enough.. i think a baby pink wouldve looked nicer... along with pink wires. The packaging is nice too! didnt take a pic, cuz i opened it before i even thought bout taking a pic :/
Ooh Hunee thank you, you've just given my ears multiple orgasms lol! :)

My new hair. well it was before i changed it again.
After a very frustrating & annoying week due to the mishaps between the seller and i (I can name the seller but i won't be a bitch...) I finally got my freakin lenses. BUT another mishap happened and i ended up getting the wrong model lens. I got the right colours but the wrong model. How dumb can it get? sighsssssssssssss!!!!! Anyhow, lucky i do like these and im not that pissed off.
Theyre not as comfy as my other ones, and theyre softer too. I think the water content is less cuz i feel that my eyes get dry faster. Or maybe cuz its my eyes? lol Anyways.. oooohhhh looky looky :)
CANDY BLUE
CANDY GREEN
CANDY BROWN
CANDY VIOLET
And here comes the "LOL" cuz i look freakin weird wearing these lens. My friend (Chris) told me that my eyes look like an animal or something lol. Well, these practically shocked me when i wore them without makeup. I think i scared myself :/ But they do look pretty with makeup, bold makeup and at nights. Its like ur eyes glisten and sparkle at night. BUT beware, if u wear them in the day time... be prepared for people looking at you.. not the whole you, but ONLY your freaky outstanding eyes haha!!! I actually forgot which ones these are. CP-302 looks blue in the site, and when i wear them they look green/aqua, which could be CP-303? Iono?
